Rihanna for Mardi Gras?

Three-time Grammy winner Rihanna will be in Sydney on the weekend of Mardi Gras 2011. The Umbrella singer is set for a concert at Sydney’s Acer Arena on Friday March 4. Mardi Gras 2011 has been confirmed for the following night – Saturday March 5. Hmmmm.
Her confirmed date in Sydney is part of Rihanna’s ‘Last Girl On Earth’ tour, which starts in Brisbane’s Entertainment Centre on Friday February 25, visits Newcastle on the 28th, then hits Sydney.
She’s also scheduled for Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Monday March 7, then Adelaide on Thursday March 10, finishing up on Perth’s Burswood Dome on Saturday March 12.
Rihanna promises her Aussie shows will feature her full World Tour production, featuring featuring multiple theatrical production and set changes, a full band, acrobats, dancers and outrageous outfits. Mardi Gras’ organizers will not confirm any guest act rumours.


Singer Rihanna is making her first step toward becoming a singer-actor as she has joined the cast of the upcoming film “Battleship.” The board game adaptation is being directed by Peter Berg. The singer joins a cast that already includes Taylor Kitsch and Alexander Skarsgard.
The 22-year-old star also spoke of her “confusion” in the aftermath of being assaulted by then-boyfriend Chris Brown in February 2009 because she couldn’t understand why her “best friend” would turn on her.
R&B star Rihanna's representative has denied she is back with ex-flame Chris Brown. Recent reports suggested that 'Umbrella' hitmaker and ex-boyfriend Brown have been keeping in touch and that Rihanna was keen for a face-to-face meeting with Brown despite his 2009 assault to her.
Sexy Bajan singer Rihanna will be playing less U.S. venues this summer than originally anticipated. The Last Girl on Earth Tour calendar has now cut four more shows.
Rihanna has been forced to scrap another date on her U.S. tour due to poor ticket sales. The singer axed the launch show of her Last Girl On Earth Tour with Ke$ha last week. Her tour promoters blamed changes in production for the cancellation.
Fiji Television Limited has today confirmed that the video clip "Te Amo" featuring Rihanna will no longer be broadcast on it's free-to-air channel, Fiji One.
