Three-time Grammy winner Rihanna will be in Sydney on the weekend of Mardi Gras 2011. The Umbrella singer is set for a concert at Sydney’s Acer Arena on Friday March 4. Mardi Gras 2011 has been confirmed for the following night – Saturday March 5. Hmmmm.

Her confirmed date in Sydney is part of Rihanna’s ‘Last Girl On Earth’ tour, which starts in Brisbane’s Entertainment Centre on Friday February 25, visits Newcastle on the 28th, then hits Sydney.

She’s also scheduled for Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Monday March 7, then Adelaide on Thursday March 10, finishing up on Perth’s Burswood Dome on Saturday March 12.

Rihanna promises her Aussie shows will feature her full World Tour production, featuring featuring multiple theatrical production and set changes, a full band, acrobats, dancers and outrageous outfits. Mardi Gras’ organizers will not confirm any guest act rumours.

Rihanna has taken it upon herself to plan an over-the-top bachelorette party for her BFF Katy Perry. “Planning Katy Perry’s bachelorette party is taking up way more time than my tour,” she tells “Access Hollywood.” “It’s so much pressure. Her wedding  is probably gonna be the best wedding I’ve ever been to and now I have to match the bachelorette party to that.”

She also shares why she bonded with the “California Gurls” singer. “We had similar personalities and I just really connected to her character,” says RiRi. “I love that she was so real, so down-to-earth. [She's] really, really fun; she doesn’t take herself too seriously.” While she wouldn’t drop hints about what she’s planning, you can expect something wild. “If you want a bachelorette party, you need to call me.”

Singer Rihanna is making her first step toward becoming a singer-actor as she has joined the cast of the upcoming film “Battleship.” The board game adaptation is being directed by Peter Berg. The singer joins a cast that already includes Taylor Kitsch and Alexander Skarsgard.

The two will play brothers and naval officers who are part of a multinational task force that will have to defend Earth against an invading alien force. At this point the role Rihanna will play remains unknown. The singer is one of two new cast members as Tadanobu Asano has also joined the cast.

Asano has previously held leading roles in “Ichi the Killer” and the Genghis Khan biopic “Mongol.” Rihanna’s current collaboration with Eminem, “Love the Way You Lie,” is on top of the music charts. The music video for the song is expected to hit airwaves this week and stars Megan Fox and Dominic Monaghan.

The 22-year-old star also spoke of her “confusion” in the aftermath of being assaulted by then-boyfriend Chris Brown in February 2009 because she couldn’t understand why her “best friend” would turn on her.

She added to America’s Elle magazine: “A year ago, I was very confused. Because he was my best friend. All of a sudden, one night changed our whole lives—not only our friendship, but our lives.

I wanted to wake up one day and just not have that pain anymore. I wanted to be with him again or get over him—it was either-or. I just didn’t want to feel the pain, the confusion.”

R&B star Rihanna's representative has denied she is back with ex-flame Chris Brown. Recent reports suggested that 'Umbrella' hitmaker and ex-boyfriend Brown have been keeping in touch and that Rihanna was keen for a face-to-face meeting with Brown despite his 2009 assault to her.

Rihanna and Brown's back-in-contact reports were first run by Britain's Heat magazine. According to the mag, she had spoken to Brown over the telephone after seeing his emotional performance at the BET Awards in late June,  reported.

Is Rihanna back in contact with Chris Brown? The two split some time ago after Chris Brown left Rihanna badly beaten in their rental car. Apparently, Rihanna picked up the phone and gave her ex-boyfriend a call recently.
“It’s been almost a year since they last spoke. But Rihanna felt like she could try to be friends with Chris again,” said a source that was close to the couple. “Seeing how emotional he was on the BET Awards really touched her. She’d never seen him like that before.”

-The source went on to say that they were each other’s first loves and that if she wanted Chris Brown back he would be there in a second. They have also exchanged a few text messages since their telephone conversation and Rihanna is thinking about meeting with Brown face to face.

Sexy Bajan singer Rihanna will be playing less U.S. venues this summer than originally anticipated. The Last Girl on Earth Tour calendar has now cut four more shows.

The July 15th show at Comfort Dental Amphitheatre in Englewood, CO has been cut along with the July 24 show at Superpages.com Center in Dallas, TX; the July 28th show at Philips Arena in Atlanta, GA; and the August 3rd at Verizon Wireless Music Center in Noblesville, IN.

It seems the tour has been hit by the downturn in ticket sales that`s troubling all live acts in cash-strapped America at the moment. Last month.

Rihanna`s July 22 concert - originally scheduled for the Cricket Wireless Pavilion in Phoenix, AZ - was moved to the significantly smaller AVA Amphitheater at Casino de Sol in Tucson, AZ.

The Tour, however, continues with a July 14th show at The Pavilion in Albuquerque, NM.  The schedule cuts come as the Grammy-winning singer was snapped with her butt hanging out of her clothes at a public pool in Compton, California Sunday.

Add Rihanna's name to the list of struggling summer concert tours. The itinerary for Rihanna's "Last Girl on Earth Tour" with Ke$ha was trimmed more this week as shows planned for Indianapolis and Denver were scrapped. She has now canceled six shows.

The dates had been set for July 15 at the Comfort Dental Amphitheatre in Englewood, Colorado, and Aug. 3 at the Verizon Wireless Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana. Looks like decent seats are still available for her show tonight in Sacramento, Calif. if anyone's interested.

Rihanna has been forced to scrap another date on her U.S. tour due to poor ticket sales. The singer axed the launch show of her Last Girl On Earth Tour with Ke$ha last week. Her tour promoters blamed changes in production for the cancellation.

But the jaunt has been hit hard again - her show at Indiana's Verizon Wireless Music Center on August 3 has been called off, according to ticketing websites. It is believed poor sales figures have forced the move.

The cancellation follows news that America's concert revenues are down in 2010 following a stellar 2009, with the Jonas Brothers and the stars of American Idol also scaling down their upcoming tours.

Fiji Television Limited has today confirmed that the video clip "Te Amo" featuring Rihanna will no longer be broadcast on it's free-to-air channel, Fiji One.

Fiji TV Group CEO, Tarun Patel said he concurs with Education Minister, Filipe Bole's statement that this particular video clip may not be suitable for General Audience.

The station's Manager Programming, Tukaha Mua also said the Programming Unit is tightening up it's screening processes to ensure that younger viewers of Fiji One will be respected.
